Négociant-éleveur

A négociant, or wine merchant, that plays a larger role than just buying and reselling wine. In the major winegrowing regions, a négociant-éleveur will purchase wines in the early stages of production and will carry out the blending, maturation and aging processes up until the wine is bottled.
