    A technical center governed by French law on research, whose mission is to conduct general studies for the entire wine growing industry in the fields of plant selection, wine growing, wine making and marketing of products. The IFV was created by the merging of two national technical institutes: The National Technical Institute for the Improvement of Wine Growing (ENTAV) and the Technical Institute for Vines and Wine (ITV).
