Franckie Alarcon
Born in Brest in 1974, Franckie Alarcon caught the drawing bug at a very early age and studied graphic arts in Nantes. From 1996 onwards, he worked as a graphic designer for a visual communications agency in Paris then in Rennes.
In 2004, he became an illustrator and decided to produce his first comic book, ‘Lovely Trouble’, published by Glénat. Since then, he has never stopped drawing and divides his time between illustration and comic books!
Inspired by fashion, the film industry, comic books and cooking, he has illustrated a documentary book on film making and another on catering professions (published by Milan).
Since then, food has featured regularly in his books – in the box set ‘Te fiche pas de moi, je cuisine !’ and in the ‘Les secrets du chocolat’ comic book published by Delcourt for which he followed the life of Parisian chocolate craftsman Jacques Genin for a year. But his love of fine food reached its apex with the documentary comic book ‘L’art du sushi’ focusing on Japan’s iconic dish.
In the visual communications sphere, his fashion-inspired illustrations have already been selected by Lancôme, ELLE, Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, La Monnaie de Paris, Maison Corthay, Natixis, Coty, Rémy Cointreau, Baume & Mercier, Sephora, Jaeger Lecoultre, Canal + Cinéma and INPES. In fact, some of his drawings have been published in poster form by Nouvelles Images.
